This is a transcription of my great grandpapa Harvey Mosty's rehearsal that my grandmother had him scribble down in 1940 about his families go on foot from Heppler, Kansas to Lampasas, Texas in 1894-1895. Then on his timely life in Kerrville and the surrounding towns.Yup my ancestors where substantive life Texas cowboys. If you are a Texas story buff you will take pleasure in this read and even if you are not you will prolly still derive pleasure from the story. It is kinda lengthy but the last two lines are credit the read. Next duration I will relay the chronicle of the founding of Walburg, Texas by my big great grandsire on my mom's side. Enjoy.
Lee Anthony Mosty moved from Lampasas to Kansas Incorporated town, Mo. in 1883. Worked for a hardware accumulation and then as a cattle buyer for Speedy and Co. Moved to Sumner Co. Kansas about 1889. Stayed one year there. Lived in a pavilion through the winter with only a puny oil lamp stove for caloric and cooking. The stove about one lower extremity high with a wick about four inches broad. Mush was cooked for evening meal, then the left over fried for breakfast, etc. No other nourishment other than meal was had. Moisten was hauled from a stream, no well being on the farm. Hot winds burned the cereal grain down and we moved to a landed estate about two miles boreal of Hepler, Kansas. The only object I remember of Kansas Incorporated town was a day we spent at a parents and children we called Auntie Rees. We went on a highway car pulled by a tiny mule. The leader stood on a small platform and prodded the minute mule along. Auntie Rees lived on a elevation overlooking a railroad switchyard. I sat in the compound all day watching the trains.
